The Most Expensive Dog Breeds in The World

Pharaoh Hound

Average price: $ 6500*

Country of origin: Malta

The Pharaoh Hound was nicknamed the “The Blushing” because of its unique fur color. He was bred for rabbit hunting in the Maltese Islands. His name in the traditional language is Kaleb Tal Fenek, which actually translates as “rabbit dog”. The ancestors of the dog hunted deer with the Egyptian pharaohs.

The companion, despite his Egyptian origins, visited Malta and was so loved that it becomes the national dog of the region. The Pharaoh’s dog has existed for five thousand years, if not more. He is an intelligent and well-trained dog. The lifespan of this active breed is from 11 to 14 years.

Pharaoh dogs often get along well with other dogs, but are sometimes known for their aggressiveness towards dogs of the same sex or dogs smaller than them. Pharaohs always hunt for hearts, so they should not share the house with smaller pets (cats, rabbits, etc.). Save your fishing skills to play chewing.
